Man arrested for third drunk driving offense following Riverton crash

mcso_logoRIVERTON TWP. — A 40-year-old Battle Creek man was arrested by Mason County sheriff’s deputies Tuesday night following a single vehicle traffic crash near the intersection of South Scottville and East Sippy roads. He was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, third offense, a felony. Also responding to the crash was Riverton Twp. Fire Dept., Custer Fire Dept. and Life EMS ambulance.

Other activity of Mason County Sheriff’s Office for Tuesday, March 4, 2014 included:

– 9:15 a.m.: A 58-year-old Manistee man was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court from Newaygo County. The arrest took place in the 1500 block of West Countyline Rd. in Grant Twp.

– 10:18 a.m.: Two vehicle rear-end crash, no injuries, U.S. 10 and Quarterline Rd., Amber Twp.

– 10:37 a.m.: Two vehicle rear-end crash, no injuries, U.S. 31 expressway near Pere Marqeutte Hwy., PM Twp.

– 11:03 a.m.: Alarm activation, 3400 block of East Chauvez Rd., Custer Twp.

– 1:29 p.m.: Damaged property, 1600 block of South Darr Rd., Custer Twp. Residence reportedly damaged by a renter.

– 7:21 p.m.: Car/deer crash, no injuries, Fountain and Tuttle roads, Sherman Twp.

– 7:28 p.m.: Car/deer crash, no injuries, Stiles Rd. and Victory Dr., Victory Twp.

– 9:08 p.m.: Assist to Scottville Police Dept., disturbance, City of Scottville.

– 9:39 p.m.: Car/deer crash, no injuries, Hansen and Amber roads, Amber Twp.
