Mardi Gras and other events at the libraries

Mardi Gras SignSeveral activities are planned for the upcoming weeks at the Mason County District Library.

MARDI GRAS. The Ludington branch will celebrate Fat Tuesday with a Mardi Gras Party on Tuesday, March 4.

Children of all ages are invited to attend.  Children under age 8 must be accompanied by an adult.

FAMILY FUN CRAFTS. The Scottville branch will host family fun crafts featuring bird house painting on March 4.

Families are invited to drop in any time between 3 and 5:30 p.m. and get creative.  Coming up:  April 1 – Celebration Plates; May 6 – Summer Serving Trays.  Children under age 8 must be accompanied by an adult.

Family Craft is the first Tuesday of each month from 3 to 6 p.m.

ADULT CRAFT NIGHT. Adult crafters are invited to the West Shore Bank Room of the Ludington branch on Tuesday, March 4 at 6 p.m. to create a necklace and a bookmark.  Crafters are invited to bring a pendant to decorate their necklace.  There will be a small selection of pendants available at the event.  This activity is open to adults only.  There is a limit of 20 participants.  Supplies are provided at no charge, but donations are appreciated.

DISCOVERY CLUB. Children in grades second through fifth are invited to join Discovery Club at the Ludington branch on the first Wednesday of each month at 4 p.m.

Retired teacher Kathy Radtke will lead students as they explore our world through books, games, art, and other activities.  For the 2013-2014 school year, the theme is “Discovering Michigan.”

On Wednesday, March 5, explore the 5 mile long bridge that connects Michigan’s upper and lower peninsulas.  Build your own replica of the Mackinac Bridge. Snack provided

 

All Mason County District Library programs are free.  Children under age 8 must be accompanied by an adult.
