LUDINGTON — Ludington Area Center for the Arts has added to people to its staff. Chris Plummer has been hired as the new executive assistant, with duties including the coordination of the West Shore Art Fair. Megan Cross is the centers’ new intern.

Chris said she is thrilled to help continue the extraordinary success of the WSAF in its second year under the direction of  LACA. She has been the drama advisor/director at Ludington High School for the past 13 years, teaches acting for children at West Shore Community College’s College for Kids program and taught for the West Shore Art League’s summer art exploration. She worked for a local radio station for 15 years.  Chris is a professional actress, a member of the Screen Actors’ Guild and has been in many area productions.

“I am in awe of the incredible work of last year’s WSAF committee and I am dedicated to keeping up the good work,” she said.

Megan is a senior at Mason County Central High School and is also a student at West Shore Community College.  She is involved with the theatre program at MCC as well as helping out with the forensics team.  For her internship at the arts center, Megan will focus on marketing and helping to get all age groups involved in the arts.  She will be an intern until she graduates and after that she hopes to continue her involvement with LACA. “I am so excited to be able to work with such a great group of people.”

“Christine’s experience and creativity combined with Megan’s enthusiasm and love of the arts will be a great benefit to the 2014 West Shore Art Fair and Ludington Area Center for the Arts. I am so pleased to have them on our team,” said LACA Executive Director Corinn VanWyck.

The 2014 West Shore Art Fair is scheduled for July 5 and 6 in Ludington City Park and will feature fine artwork and fine crafts from artists and artisans from around the country.  Ludington Area Center for the Arts took over the management of the former West Shore Art League Fine Arts Fair in 2013.  Applications for the 2014 WSAF will be accepted through February 28 and are available through a link at http://www.ludingtonartscenter.org/fairs/WSAF/WSAF_home.  For more information, contact LACA at 231-845-2787 or wsaf@ludingtonartscenter.org.
