Roads are slick, more snow to come

us_10_crashAMBER TWP. — A three car crash on U.S. 10-31 and Quarterline Road this afternoon only resulted in minor injuries. The crash occurred when a vehicle was partially in the left turn lane attempting to make a left-hand turn. Another vehicle attempted to swerve out of the way, going into the path of another car. While area roads are being cleared from drifted snow, temperatures in the teens are causing the roads to be slick.

Mason County and surrounding areas are under a winter weather advisory until 4 p.m. today. Snow accumulations of 1 to 2 inches are possible this afternoon. Areas south of I-96 may see freezing drizzle. More snow and blowing snow is expected to develop tonight. Monday and Tuesday will bring bitter cold temperatures with wind chills reaching -20 to -30.

High temperature today is expected to be 18 with a low tonight of 8. Wind this afternoon, south at 13 mph, changing to southwest at 13 mph and later west-southwest at 14 mph.

Tomorrow, blustery with snow showers, 1 to 2 inches expected.
