Jordan Lake is helped during Garrett’s funeral Tuesday.

Jordan Lake, the Branch Township teen injured in a fatal car crash two weeks ago, is coming home, her mother reports. Jennifer Lake posted on the Faith, Hope, and Strength for the Lake Family Facebook page that Jordan has received the OK from her doctors and case workers to come home. The 16-year-old Mason County Eastern senior was in attendance of her 11-year-old brother Garrett’s funeral earlier this week but she arrived by ambulance.

“She has also been given the OK to return to school for half days, which is all she really has anyway,” Jennifer posted. “It’s been a very long and hard two weeks, but we have gotten this far. And, Jordan has done amazing while here. We still have a long road ahead but she can do it.”

Jordan was  injured the morning of Oct. 25 when the Chevy Blazer she was driving apparently hit black ice on East U.S. 10 near Maple Road in Branch Township. Garrett was pronounced dead at the scene. Their 13-year-old sister, McKenna, was transported to Spectrum Health Ludington Hospital where she was treated and released. Jordan was flown by Aeromed helicopter ambulance to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids where she underwent surgery to her back.
