Air temperatures in 70s today, cool tonight

Below are the Lake Michigan surface water temperatures and the weather conditions for Mason County and surrounding areas as of 9:30 a.m. today.

The area is currently under a beach hazard, which means conditions may be too dangerous for swimming. High wave action and dangerous swimming conditions are expected. Strong structural and longshore currents are also expected.

There is also a local pollen alert issued.

Lake Michigan water temperatures:

Stearns Park, Ludington: 64 degrees F

Ludington State Park: 64 degrees F

Summit Park: 62 degrees F

Charles Mears State Park, Pentwater: 66 degrees F

First Street Beach, Manistee: 65 degrees F

Little Sable Point: 63 degrees F

Ludington and Pentwater: Sunny with temperatures reaching 70 degrees F. Humidity: 66%; wind: north at 11 mph.

Scottville: Sunny with temperatures reaching 71 degrees F. Humidity: 70%; wind: north-northwest at 12 mph. Lows tonight expected to drop to 47 degrees F.
