August 19, 2013

wscc logoVICTORY TWP. – First–time or returning students at West Shore Community College are invited to attend the 2013 Student Orientation to be held on Thursday, August 29, at 6 p.m., in the Arts and Sciences Center and Center Stage Theater.

“This is a great opportunity for our new students to learn their way around the campus and to learn how to be successful in college,” said Dean of Student Services Chad Inabinet. “It’s a great advantage for students to ‘know the ropes’ even before they begin their classes.”

The orientation will include a student panel and a “Meet the Professors” segment designed for new students to hear firsthand what to expect in college, an informational session on campus resources, an activity to help students get to know each other, and information about general campus life.

For those seeking extra-curricular activities, students are encouraged to arrive by 5:30 p.m. to learn about student clubs and service organizations. A number of academic departments and faculty will also be available to answer student questions.

Students who call in advance to make a reservation will be eligible to receive a free WSCC gift.

For more information and to RSVP, contact the admissions office at 231-843-5503.
