LAKE TWP., Lake County — Two brothers, ages 7 and 9, were found drowned in a recently created pond on a farm on Tyndall Road in Carr Settlement early Thursday evening. The road is on the county line and the incident happened on the Lake County side.

According to 9 and 10 News, the boys were playing in the backyard this afternoon, went into the pond at some point, and went unnoticed for some time. MCP has been told that the children were found by family, who took them out of the pond and attempted to revive them while rescuers were en-route. The children still had their clothes on when they were taken out of the pond.

Lake County deputies and rescue crews from Carr and Lake Township fire departments were called to the home around 6:30 p.m. Attempts to revive the boys were unsuccessful.

The boys were the oldest of four children. The family owns a farm that specializes in camel milk.

The incident is still under investigation.
