Arts council hires new director

June 27, 2013

LUDINGTON — The board of the Ludington Area Arts Council has announced Corinn VanWyck is the new executive director of the Ludington Area Center for the Arts. Corrin will be in Ludington and at the center starting next week to begin the transition period.

“We are very excited to bring Corinn onto the team” said Tim McKay, board president. “She has extensive programming, management and funding experience, including Festival Coordinator of the East Lansing Arts Festival for the past six years. Corinn also has a local connection – her family purchased a home in Ludington three years ago with the intention to live here year round. The growing arts community was a factor in their decision to make Ludington home, having previously attended events at the Ludington Area Center for the Arts.”

The current executive director, Erica Karmeisool Reed, is stepping down in her role to focus on her personal art. “We thank Erica for her many contributions at LAAC and are saddened to see her go” said board Vice President Barry Neal. Erica was recognized recently as part of the Annual Meeting of Members at the art center earlier this month. Erica is committed to a smooth transition for Corinn.
