Farmers’ market, band shell concerts today

May 21, 2013

SCOTTVILLE — The Scottville Farmers’ Market and the Scottville Clown Band Shell weekly concert series both begin today. The market is open from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the west parking lot.

For the past five years the market has been held on Saturday mornings. Scottville Main Street Manager Heather Landis said the Main Street program wanted to tie the market into an event that draws more people into town. “The Tuesday concert series seemed like a perfect draw,” she said.

The Mason County Central Jazz Band kicks off the first “Tuesdays at the Shell” performance at 7 p.m. Next week Andy Thomas will perform acoustic guitar cover songs. Andy is a regular performer at the Blue Moon Bistro and James Port Brewery in downtown Ludington. He owns AM Galleries of Ludington.
