Lake effect snow advisory

The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids has issued a lake effect snow advisory for Mason County beginning Tuesday at 7 a.m. Below is more information:

 

.. LAKE EFFECT SNOW ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM TO 7 PM EST TUESDAY…

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GRAND RAPIDS HAS ISSUED A LAKE EFFECT SNOW ADVISORY… WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM TO 7 PM EST TUESDAY.

HAZARDOUS WEATHER…

* SNOW IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP JUST BEFORE SUNRISE AND BECOME LOCALLY HEAVY DURING THE MID TO LATE MORNING HOURS.

* SNOWFALLS OF 3 TO 6 INCHES WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE BY EARLY EVENING.

* SOME BLOWING AND DRIFTING OF THE SNOW IS EXPECTED.

IMPACTS…

* ROADS WILL BECOME SNOW COVERED AND SLIPPERY.

* SLOWER COMMUTING TIMES FOR ANY TRAVEL SHOULD BE EXPECTED.
