Obit: Daniel E. Ames, 79, Ludington

Daniel E. Ames age 79 of Ludington, passed away on December 1, 2012. He was born August 15, 1933 son of Scott and Queenie (Dibble) Ames.

He attended Ludington High and married Sharon R. (Burgess) Ames on October 6, 1962 at the Ludington Community Church. Dan worked as a printer for the Greenville Printing Company for 18 years retiring in 1995. He enjoyed leather working, coin collecting, deer hunting and playing Santa Claus.

He is survived by his daughters: Sharon R. Ames of Ludington; Darcy E (TJ) Rowe of Columbus, OH; Dawn E. Ames of Ludington; sons: Daniel E.  (Angela) Ames of Morrow, OH; David E. Ames of Tucson, AZ; brothers: Scott Ames Jr. of Ludington, Emory (Hazel) Ames of FL; along with granddaughters: Christine L. Ames, Heidi R. Ames, Lacianna Rowe and grandson: Daniel E. Ames III.  

Daniel is preceded in death by his parents, brothers: George and James Ames along with his sisters: Harriet Iteen, Betty Kascinski and Mary Taibl.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday December 5, 2012 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 pm at the Ramada Inn in Ludington. 

Memorial contributions may be directed to the West Shore Community Mental Health System.
