12 receive district court sentences

LUDINGTON — Twelve people were sentenced to jail and/or received fines in the 79th District Court this past week.

Sentences:
– Jeffery Allen Mellifont, 26, 1570 Hoyt St., No. 1, Muskegon, was found guilty of Possession/Transport of Rifle with Ammo. Sentence: 90 days discretionary jail for 1 year, $255.
– Peter Joseph Eberhardt IV, 31, 411 Potawatomi Blvd., Royal Oak, was found guilty on Nov. 29 of Failure to Report an Accident. Sentence: $325, reserved.
Ravi Jason Sharma, 38, 3631 W. Chauvez Rd., Riverton Twp., was found guilty on Nov. 26 for Allowing a Person to Drive in Violation. Sentence: $335, 90 days discretionary jail for 1 year.
– Chassidy Ann Haynes, 25, 690 S. Landon Rd., Branch, was found guilty on Nov. 20 for Retail Fraud Second Degree. Sentence: $760, 1 year discretionary jail for 2 years. Must attend/complete economic crime program. Must serve 5 consecutive weekends in Mason County jail beginning Nov. 23 at 7 p.m. through Sunday at 5 p.m.
– Jennifer Jo Rittenhouse, 32, 309 N. Rath, Ludington, was found guilty on Nov. 20 for Embezzlement of an Agent of Trustee. Sentence: 4 days jail, 1 year discretionary jail for 2 years. Must attend/complete economic crime program. Must seek and maintain employment. Must serve 4 days in Mason County jail beginning Nov. 23 at 7 p.m. through Nov. 26 at 8 a.m. $1,255.94.
– Samantha Jo Yenior, 26, 6765 W. Maple St., Hamlin Twp., was found guilty on Nov. 20 for False Pretenses Less than $200. Sentence: 2 days jail, 30 days discretionary jail for 2 years, $339.
– Michael Theodore Powell, 38, 5095 W. U.S. 10, Amber Twp., was found guilty on Nov. 20 for Driving While License Suspended/Revoked. Sentence: 28 days jail, 1 year discretionary jail for 2 years, $580.
– Douglas Alan Hendrickson, 26, was found guilty on Nov. 20 for Controlled Substance Possession of Marijuana. Sentence: 2 days jail, 1 year discretionary jail for 2 years, $605.
– Robert Roy Lange, 26, 129 W. Broadway, Scottville, was found guilty on Nov. 20 for Driving While License Suspended/Revoked. Sentence: 2 days jail, 1 year discretionary jail for 2 years, $123.
– Bernabe Luevano, 20, 109 Pine St., Shelby, was found guilty on Nov. 20 for Retail Fraud Third Degree. Sentence: 7 days jail, 93 days discretionary jail for 1 year, must attend the economic crime program and provide proof of completion to the court, $580.
– Kathy Ann Kirwin, 37, 704 S. Madison St., Ludington, was found guilty on Nov. 20, for Larceny. Sentence: 93 days discretionary jail for 1 year, must enroll and complete economic crime program and provide proof of completion, $730.
– Heather Ann Bedore, 29, 714 N. Rowe St., Ludington, was found guilty on Nov. 20 of Domestic Violence. Sentence: 2 days jail, 93 days discretionary jail for 1 year, must complete Hands Down Program with Work It Out and pay costs associated with same. Must submit to random PBT tests at request of any police officer. $355.
– Brandon Paul Yarness, 36, 3850 N. Jerome, St. Louis, Mich., was found guilty on Nov. 19 for Allowing a Person to Drive in Violation. Sentence: $335.
