5 arrested in connection to drug activity at apartment complex.

SCOTTVILLE — The Scottville Police Department in conjunction with the SSCENT Team (State, Sheriffs, and Chiefs Enforcement Narcotics Team) have completed a narcotic investigation that has led to the arrest of multiple people.  

This complaint originated in March at Glendale Apartments, 400 W. Third St. when emergency personnel were called there for a report of a 27-year-old male who was unresponsive and not breathing as the result of an overdose, according to SPD Chief Matt Murphy. Narcan was administered and the subject was revived, Murphy said.

“Multiple complaints have come in to Scottville Police Department about drug activity in this location of the city since that occasion,” Murphy said. “With the help and the corporation of the community and efforts of the SSCENT Team and Scottville Police Department several arrests were made.” 

Those arrested include: 

  • Jacob Matthew Howe, 27, of Jacob Matthew Howe, 27, of 400 W. Third St., Scottville. Howe was arrested on June 2, 2020 and arraigned in 79th District Court on felony charges of possession of methamphetamine/Ecstasy and maintaining a drug house. Bond was set at 10% of $2,500 and he was released from Jail on June 3, 2020. 
  • Joseph Thomas Williams, 23, of 7357 126th Ave., Hart, was arrested by Ludington Police Department on June 22, 2020 and charged on a warrant for failure to appear in court. Original call was for an intoxicated male screaming at the sun in a parking lot. He was released from jail on June 22, 2020. 
  • Robert Alan Reyes, 34, of 312 River St., Manistee, was arrested July 10 by SSCENT and arraigned in 79th District Court on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance (analogues). Bail of $2,500 was set and he was released on July 11, 2020 on personal recognizance.
  • Danyel Rebecca Horsley, 32, homeless, was arrested on July 30, 2020 and arraigned in district court on the charge of controlled substance possession, methamphetamine/Ecstasy. Bai was set at 10% of $5,000 and she was released from jail on July 31, 2020. 
  • Jeffrey Jacob-Allen Little, 27, of Baldwin, was arrested on Aug. 3, 2020 and charged with weapons offense, carrying concealed pistol, trespassing and habitual offender, third offense. 

“The Scottville Police Department and SSCENT would like to thank all of the citizens of Scottville who have called in these tips on these individuals,” said Chief Murphy. “We would also like to say this is a great example of communities working together to stop these substances and weapons from entering into our community.

I am very proud of our citizens who are partnering and communicating with our department. I am also very excited about the relationship that continues to grow between the Scottville Police Department and the SSCENT Team.
