Scottville welcomes new city manager.
SCOTTVILLE — City Commission held a meeting this morning to officially greet the new city manager, Courtney Magaluk. The meeting included no formal action. Magaluk began her duties at 8 a.m. and was greeted by the commission along with several of the city’s employees. Sen. Curt VanderWall also attended the meeting to welcome Magaluk to the community.
Magaluk replaces Amy Williams who resigned in April after serving as city manager for over 20 years. For the next two weeks, Magaluk will work with Interim Manager Steve Brock, who has served in that role since early May.
Magaluk most recently was a senior project manager for the City of Grand Rapids. She is a graduate of Shelby High School and attended West Shore Community College. She earned a bachelor’s of science degree from Michigan State University with a major in environmental studies and applications and a master’s degree from Clemson University with a major in city and regional planning. She has spent much of her career in South Caroline and Florida.
