Holland woman arrested after vehicle hits tree.

AMBER TOWNSHIP — A 57-year-old Holland woman was arrested for fleeing and eluding police and second-offense operating while intoxicated Saturday, Feb. 20 at 7:20 p.m. after fleeing from a Mason County Sheriff’s deputy on the US 31 expressway and striking a tree, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

The woman was located following a “be on the lookout” alert to law enforcement for a reckless driver on the US 31 freeway, Cole said. A deputy located the vehicle headed northbound on US 31. The deputy attempted a traffic stop, but the woman failed to stop, fleeing northbound. She missed the westbound US 10 off-ramp and struck a tree. She was not injured and arrested at the scene.
