Deputies investigate home invasion, assault.

AMBER TOWNSHIP — Mason County sheriff’s deputies are investigating a home invasion and assault that occurred at Wildwood Crossing Thursday, April 7, shortly after 8 p.m., according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

“A report will be forwarded to the Mason County Prosecutor’s Office following a 911 report of an unwanted person call,” said Cole. “The complainant reported a person known to them had entered the apartment illegally and assaulted a resident. (There were) minor injuries to the victim, and the suspect left the scene before MCSO deputies arrived.”

Other activity of the Mason County Sheriff’s Office Thursday, April 7, includes:

  • 7  a.m., car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 north of Hansen Road, Custer Township.
  • 7:24 p.m., a 28-year-old Ludington man was cited for his fifth driving while license suspended charge following a traffic stop, Fountain and Custer roads, Sherman Township.
