Man goes from jail visitor to jail inmate.

LUDINGTON — A 42-year-old Mason County man was arrested on an outstanding Mason County Friend of the Court warrant after he came into the jail to visit an inmate Saturday, Oct. 23, shortly before 9 a.m., according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

Friday, Oct. 22, 2021:

  • 6:43 a.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), car/deer crash, no injury, US 10 west of Tuttle Road, Custer Township.
  • 7:04 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, US 10 west of Tuttle Road, Custer Township.
  • 8:08 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 north of Sugar Grove Road, Sherman Township.
  • 1:22 p.m., (MCSO), larceny from a vehicle, 400 block of South Pere Marquette Highway, Pere Marquette Township. The complainant reported the catalytic converter had been cut off his vehicle.
  • 6:50 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Stiles Road south of Beyer Road, Victory Township.
  • 7:25 p.m., (MCSO), assault, 1000 block of Brandy Lane, Pere Marquette Township. A report is being forwarded to the Mason County Prosecutor’s Office following a 911 call reporting an assault against a 29-year-old Ludington man.
  • 8 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Kinney Road west of Tyndall Road, Logan Township.
  • 9:26 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, US 10 west of Quarterline Road, Amber Township.

Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021:

  • 6 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, US 10 east of Schoenherr Road, Branch Township.
  • 11 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Hansen Road east of Gordon Road, Amber Township.
  • ​11:25 a.m., (Ludington Police Department), ​a 36-year-old Ludington woman was cited for driving while license suspended (DWLS), Harrison and Lowell​ streets, City of Ludington.
  • 9:02 p.m., (MCSO), larceny, Walmart, Pere Marquette Township. The complainant reported the theft of $40 cash while shopping.

Sunday, Oct. 24, 2021:

  • 2:20  a.m., (MCSO), an 18 year-old Grandville man was cited for DWLS following a traffic stop, US 31 and Free Soil Road, Free Soil Township.
  • 8 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Walhalla Road north of Kinney Road, Logan Township.
  • 8:01 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Stiles Road north of Meisenheimer Road, Riverton Township.
  • 12:36 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Walhalla Road north of Barothy Road, Branch Township. 
  • 7:52 p.m., (MCSO), a 30-year-old Fountain man was arrested on a Michigan Department of Corrections parole absconder warrant, 3700 block of East Sugar Grove Road, Sherman Township.
  • 8 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Jebavy Drive south of Dewey Road, Hamlin Township.
  • 8:36 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Victory Road west of Peterson Road, Victory Township.
