Deputies busy assisting motorists stuck in snow.

Several vehicles were stuck in the snow in the early morning hours Tuesday, Nov. 12, when Mason County was hit with heavy lake effect snow and frigid temperatures. Many vehicles were stuck in the Scottville area, where the National Weather Service in Grand Rapids reported over 10 inches of snow fell. No injuries were reported.

The following is activity of the Mason County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2019:

  • 12:30 a.m., motorist assist – stuck vehicle in roadway, Chauvez and Schwass roads, Riverton Township.
  • 1 a.m., motorist assist – stuck vehicle in roadway, Reinberg Road and Broadway Street, City of Scottville.
  • 1:09 a.m., motorist assist – stuck vehicle in roadway, Scottville and Marrison roads, Riverton Township.
  • 1:46 a.m., motorist assist – stuck vehicle in roadway, Scottville and Chauvez roads, Riverton Township.
  • 2 a.m., motorist assist – stuck vehicle in roadway, Scottville Road south of Chauvez Road, Riverton Township.
  • 3:20 a.m., motorist assist – stuck vehicle in roadway, Main and Fourth streets, City of Scottville.
  • 5:47 a.m., alarm activation, Amber Township.
  • 6:02 a.m., a 25-year-old Fountain woman was arrested for domestic violence following a 911 call reporting an assault, Navajo Trail, Branch Township.
  • 6:05 a.m., alarm activation, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 6:15 a.m., car/deer crash, no injury, Dewey Road east of Schoenherr Road, Sheridan Township.
  • 11:35 a.m., two-vehicle crash, no injury, Jebavy Drive and Johnson Road, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 4:05 p.m., one-vehicle crash, no injury, Dennis Road north of US 10, Amber Township.
  • 6:49 p.m., car/deer crash, no injury, Angling Road east of Meyers Road, Victory Township.
