Obituary: Barbara Gutschke, 81, Ludington.

Barbara M. Gutschke, 81, of Ludington passed away peacefully, Friday, May 10, 2019 at Oakview Medical Care Facility.  Barbara was born March 3, 1938 in Ludington to Frank and Bertha (Andersen) Hansen. She graduated from Ludington High School in 1956 and married the late Donald Gutschke on June 2, 1956 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Ludington.

Barbara worked as a legal secretary for Wilfred Hocking and Ronald Wilson. She retired in 1994 after 38 years with the office.  She was a member of the United Methodist Church. Barbara enjoyed her daily breakfasts at Brenda’s Harbor Café and her daily trips to the casino and enjoying the friends at both places.

She will be greatly missed by her sisters-in-law, Dorothy Johnson, Kathy Hall, Viola Gutschke, and Helen Gutschke; her brothers-in-law, William (Barbara) Klemm and Eldred Chavalia, her many nieces and nephews, Gary Klemm, Ronald Klemm, Donald Klemm, Susan Miller, Linda Johnson, David Johnson, Karen Bell, Brad Johnson, Michael Johnson, Karlyn Bray, Kirk Chavalia, Todd Chavalia, Tammy Tanis, Janis Moore, Robert Gutschke, Dennis Gutschke, David Gutschke, Michelle Gutschke Specchio, Allen Gutschke, and Bob Lee Gutschke Jr., and their spouses; and also numerous great and great great nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends.

Besides her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her sisters, Doris L. Klemm and Luella B. Chavalia, her brothers, Garfield A. and Roland W. Johnson, and Bruce F. Hansen

A funeral will be held Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Oak Grove Funeral Home in Ludington. Family will greet friends starting at 10 a.m. Barb will be laid to rest next to her husband at Lakeview Cemetery in Ludington.

Memorial contributions in Barbara’s name may be directed to the Ludington United Methodist Church.
