Man arrested for drunk driving following crash. 

HAMLIN TOWNSHIP — A 19-year-old Scottville man was arrested for drunk driving early Saturday morning after he crashed his vehicle and then drove away from the scene. Deputies were called to Lincoln Road, north of Ehler Road, about 5:19 a.m. for a report of a vehicle that had struck a tree. The man was arrested after he had left the scene and was found by a deputy driving eastbound on Shagway Road in a heavily damaged vehicle. The man, who was not injured, was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, first offense.

  • 2:35 a.m., Mason County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), alarm activation, 5600 block of West US 10, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 5:50 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injuries, Anthony Road east of Brye Road, Riverton Township.
  • 2 p.m., (MSP), a 63-year-old Filer City man was arrested on a warrant, US 31 near Colburn Road, Sherman Township.
  • 2:30 p.m., (MSP), a 22-year-old Irons woman and a 29-year-old Baldwin man were both arrested for violating a personal protection order (PPO), State Street, City of Scottville.
  • 3:30 p.m., (MSP), three-vehicle crash, no injuries, US 10 near the US 31 southbound on-ramp, Amber Township.
  • 4:15 p.m., (MSP), two-vehicle crash, no injuries, Jebavy Drive near US 10, City of Ludington.
  • 10:45 p.m., (MSP), a 22-year-old Ludington man was arrested for open intoxicants in a vehicle – passenger, US 31 near Millerton Road, Victory Township.

Saturday, July 14, 2018:

  • 12:15 a.m., (MSP), a 31-year-old Hart man was arrested for second-offense driving while license suspended (DWLS), US 10 near Pere Marquette Highway, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 3:15 a.m., (MCSO), gas drive off, $39.92, Scottville EZ Mart, 423 E. US 10, Custer Township.
  • 5:55 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injuries, Sugar Grove Road east of Stiles Road, Victory Township.
  • 2:34 p.m., (MCSO), a 79-year-old Custer man was cited for failing to yield the right-of-way following a two vehicle crash on US 10 west of Pere Marquette Highway in Pere Marquette Township. A 23-year-old Branch man was injured when he took evasive actioin on the motorcycle he was operating to a avoid a vehicle that had cut him off. The motorcyclist struck the back of a stopped vehicle, resulting in him being ejected. Responding to the scene was also Pere Marquette Township Fire Department and Life EMS.

  • 3:22 a.m., (MCSO), an 18-year-old Baldwin man and a 17-year-old Ludington man were both cited for being minors in possession of alcohol following a traffic stop at Scottville and Chauvez roads in Eden Township.
  • 9:17 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injuries, Chauvez Road east of Tuttle Road, Eden Township.
  • 12:05 p.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, 5500 block of West US 10, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 1:05 p.m., (MCSO), single vehicle crash, no injuries, US 31 north of Oceana Drive, Summit Township.
  • 1:26 p.m., (MCSO), two vehicle crash, no injuries, US 10 east of Nelson Road, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 4:50 p.m., (MSP), a 26-year-old Dexter, Michigan man was arrested for DWLS, Us 31 near Oceana Drive, Summit Township.
  • 5:11 p.m., (MCSO), a 40-year-old Ludington man was arrested for an outstanding warrant charging him with failure to appear in court, following a traffic stop at Victory Corner and Fisher roads, Victory Township.
