GRANT TOWNSHIP  (Oceana County) — A 30-year-old Fountain woman and a 20-year-old Fountain man were transported by Oceana County EMS to Hackley Hospital in Muskegon for treatment of “non-life-threatening injuries” following a single-vehicle rollover crash on US 31 near Winston Road Wednesday, May 24, at approximately 5 p.m., according to Oceana County Undersheriff Ryan Schiller.

The woman was driving a Chevy Impala northbound near the Rothbury exit when she somehow lost control of the car, which rolled multiple times in the median, Schiller said. Both accident victims had to be extricated using Jaws of Life, because they were trapped inside the vehicle.

Both victims walked out of the car when freed from the wreckage.

It was not immediately known if they were wearing seat belts. Air bags did not deploy, however.

In addition to Oceana County EMS, several emergency personnel were on scene, including Grant Township Fire Department, Grant Township Rescue, Montague Fire Department, Michigan State Police and the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office.

No other details were immediately available.
