Fountain man is 6th arrested by sheriff this year on sex offender registration violation.

FOUNTAIN — A 23-year-old Fountain man was the latest sex offender who has been arrested in Mason County this year for failure to register. The Mason County Sheriff’s Office, to date in 2015, has conducted 68 random residence checks on sex offenders, which has resulted in six arrests and four additional warrants requested.

Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole said while personnel are limited at the sheriff’s office, he believes conducting the checks is an important task to keep the public safe of possible sexual predators.

The Fountain man was arrested Saturday on East River Road in the Village of Fountain.
