Rocktober will be held at the arts center

LUDINGTON – Ludrock and 94K-Rock, in partnership with Ludington Area Center for the Arts, present the first in what is intended to be a series called Live from the LACA, Rocktober Night of Fright, a night of rock ‘n roll and Halloween fun. It will be held at the Arts Center on Saturday, October 26, doors and cash bar open at 6pm with music starting at 7 p.m.

Audience members are encouraged to fully participate in the Halloween fun by dressing in costume. A prize will be awarded for the best costume of the night. Festivities will include fun and games such as glow-in-the-dark ring toss and a haunted house, the 94K-Rock Photo Booth for fun solo or group shots, and a cash bar for those 21 and over, however attendance is not limited to that age group. 94K-Rock’s The Boatman will be broadcasting live from the event. Proceeds from the evening’s activities will benefit LACA and its efforts to improve programming and the venue’s technical capabilities.

Local bands 13 Colonies and Dear Wormwood will perform for this charity event. 13 Colonies features Josh Cogle on guitar, vocals, bass, piano and drums; Steve Alvesteffer on guitar, bass and drums; and Daniel Root on drums, vocals, guitar and piano. Dear Wormwood includes Jim Bob Ewing on rhythm guitar and vocals; Kevin Knudsen on lead guitar and back-up vocals; Steve Ewing on bass; and Travis Ewing on drums.

Sound, lighting and technical assistance for the evening will be provided by IOS Entertainment and Organized Chaos.

Rocktober Night of Fright will be held Saturday, October 26 at Ludington Area Center for the Arts, 107 S. Harrison. The doors and cash bar will open at 6 p.m. and the bands will take the stage at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 each, $8 for LACA members, and are available at the LACA office and Gordy’s Skate Shop. They may also be purchased online at www.laca-rocktober.eventbrite.com. Proof of age is required upon entry at the event. The LACA office is open Tuesday-Saturday, noon to 5pm.
